Below are outreach activities that ICASSI faculty have engaged in across countries in Asia as well as India.

Our co-chair Prof. EVA DREIKURS FERGUSON recently traveled to Beijing, China to give lectures at the invitation of the publisher of Children: The Challenge. Parents and teachers attended the lectures. Eva Dreikurs Ferguson signed copies of her father’s books, which have been published in Chinese and sold widely.
There is a large demand for Adlerian ideas for raising children, and parents and teachers are eager to learn Adler-Dreikurs teachings. At present there are four
Dreikurs books published in China: Children: The Challenge, Psychology in the classroom, Challenge of parenthood, and Challenge of marriage. Eva Dreikurs Ferguson‘s book Adlerian Theory will be available for sale this month.
The Chinese community is eager to bring ICASSI’s summer school one day to China to enable a large amount of people to attend the summer institute. As a follow up to last year’s attendance of a big Chinese group in Indianapolis, more than 30 Chinese participants will attend this year’s ICASSI in Bonn, Germany.
FRANK WALTON will be visiting Shiga, Osaka and Tokyo, Japan October 14, 21 and 22, 2017. He is giving a Keynote presentation at the Japanese Society of Adlerian Psychology in Shiga. Then he will be offering Family Counseling Demonstrations in Osaka and Tokyo.
THEO JOOSTEN traveled to Delhi, India in April 2016 to participate in a 2-day international seminar on “Indian Mind and Societal Concerns.” His lecture was “Social Interest: A sustainable value for mankind.” About 200 people attended, mainly professors and students from the Department of Psychology at Ramanujan College (University of Delhi).
In past years BETTY LOU BETTNER has been to Turkey, India and Israel to give lectures and offer workshops in Individual Psychology. Her recent visit was to China in December 2016. In Beijing she gave a lecture on the psychological needs of children to a general audience of about 400 people that were interested in parenting. It was organized by the publishing company for her book, The Creative Force. She also visited Shanghai and gave a similar lecture to about 500 people. In addition, she presented two 3-day courses on Adlerian psychology and personal growth to 60 parent education trainers. This series of courses was organized by PD Home, Inc. She then presented on family meetings for 3 days to another group of about 30 parent education trainers, and the event was also organized by PD Home, Inc. She spent time in Hangzhou as well, presenting on Adlerian psychology theory and application, which was sponsored by Television Psychology Training Programs.
