Susan Belangee
Dr. Susan Belangee resides in Canton, GA and has 25 years of experience researching and working with clients struggling with eating disorders from the Adlerian perspective. She presents frequently on this topic, sharing her knowledge and wisdom regionally, nationally, and internationally. Her latest achievement was co-authoring the Eating Disorders chapter in Psychopathology and Psychotherapy: DSM-5-TR Diagnosis, Case Conceptualization, and Treatment, 4th Edition. Jim Bitter
James Robert Bitter, Ed.D., is Professor of Counseling and Human Services at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, TN. He is a Diplomate in Adlerian Psychology (NASAP, 2002), and the former Editor of the Journal of Individual Psychology. He has served as the President of the North American Society of Adlerian Psychology (NASAP). Jim is the author or co-author of 4 books, including Adlerian Group Counseling and Therapy: Step-by-Step (2004); Contributions to Adlerian Psychology (2011); and The Theory and Practice of Family Therapy and Counseling (2nd ed., 2014)—as well as more than 100 journal articles, chapters, and video tapes. He is the featured master therapist on the video for Adlerian family therapy on the Psychotherapy.net series Family Therapy with the Experts. The American Counseling Association will publish Jim’s forthcoming book, The Theory and Practice of Couples and Family Counseling. Jim was privileged to study, write, and work with Virginia Satir for more than ten years, and he has also studied with the master Gestalt therapists, Erv and Miriam Polster, and the founder of Narrative Therapy, Michael White. Starting with his early work at Idaho State University with Dr. Tom Edgar and later with his mentor, Dr. Manford Sontegard, Jim has participated in establishing and supporting five family education centers in the United States, and contributing to the development of another five throughout the world.

Jay Colker
Dr. Jay Colker has had two distinct phases of his career: 20 years of clinical work and managing clinical facilities and 25 years of organizational development work as a consultant and as a senior human resources executive in a multi-billion-dollar corporation. As a clinician, Jay worked in a private counseling practice first full time and then part time, as well as in various agency settings including responsibility as the clinical coordinator for a heroin addiction’s treatment facility. For seven years, Jay was Director of Grant Hospital’s Chemical Dependence Program and the Clinical Training Program for Addiction’s Counselors. Jay also was an advocate for change Statewide as Vice Chairman and then Chairman of the Illinois Hospital Addiction Treatment Administrator’s Forum. One area of passion for Jay has been family education. Jay presented hundreds of talks in the community to parent groups over the years. In addition to his Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology, Jay also obtained an MBA and a Doctor of Management Degree in Organizational Leadership. As a management consultant for seven years in the 1990’s, Jay worked with Fortune 500 corporations including ComEd and McDonalds, and smaller for-profit and not-for-profit concerns. He adapted the open forum model of family counseling to work with managers to enhance coaching and leadership skills. For 11 years, Jay was the Chief Learning Officer for ShoreBank, the largest and oldest community development bank in the U.S. Jay was responsible for employee training, leadership development, and enhancing performance within all lines of business. Jay facilitated a strategy that led to recognition by Workforce Chicago as best in class in learning and development. Two years later, ShoreBank was honored with the Right Workplace Award for its positive people practices. Jay has also consulted internationally and was instrumental in introducing customer service skills to institutions in the Republic of Georgia and Azerbaijan, and has also consulted in Mongolia, Armenia, Israel, and India. Presently Jay maintains a management coaching and consulting practice using Adlerian principles, among others. He is the founder of Crowdsourced Coaching (www.crowdsourcedcoaching.com) which engages leaders in collaborative discussions to enhance performance and development. Jay’s interest in Adlerian philosophy spans over 48 years. In the early 1970’s, Jay studied with many of the founding Adlerians. Jay extensively trained in open forum family counseling for two years, lead parent training classes and trained parent educators. Jay earned his MA in Counseling Psychology at the Alfred Adler Institute in Chicago, now Adler University. Jay led Adler School’s Family Education Center for four years offering monthly open forum demonstrations to groups of over 200 attendees. He was an Adjunct Faculty Member at the Adler School of Professional Psychology, now Adler University for 7 years. In 2012, Jay was hired full time as core faculty in the Masters of Counseling and Organizational Psychology Program and ultimately became the Program Director for two years until that program was discontinued. Jay was then asked to be the Director of the Center for Adlerian Practice and Scholarship at Adler University along with being an associate professor. He maintained these roles until he retired at the end of August 2017. He currently is a Senior Adjunct Faculty in the Department of Leadership and Applied Psychology teaching Industrial Organizational psychology to Ph.D. students.
