The local situation
The closest village next to the monastery is called Kall. It is a municipality with about 11.000 inhabitants in the district of Euskirchen in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia in Germany. It is located in the Eifel region, a hilly area with a beautiful landscape. The closest airports are Cologne-Bonn (80 km, 1 hour by car) and Frankfurt International (230 km, 2.5 hours by car). Kloster Steinfeld is located south of Kall on a hilltop.

Kloster Steinfeld
Kloster Steinfeld is a former Premonstratensian monastery, now a Salvatorian convent, in the middle of the Eifel region in the West of Germany. Although there are still some monks and nuns of the Salvatorian convent living and working on the grounds, the large complex also includes a Grammar-School (Herman-Josef-Kolleg Steinfeld) and a guest-house which has modernized four-star rooms as well as more basic accommodation.

Accomodation
Most accommodation will be on the grounds of Kloster Steinfeld. There is a new guesthouse (modern four-star rooms), an old guest house awith more simple accommodation (numbers 1/10). Furthermore there is house St. Benedikt with most of the single rooms (and the yellow marked building at the main entrance).
All accommodation has limited capacities which means that your first choice might be filled quickly.
There are single rooms and double rooms in all three buildings, ensuite and with shared bathrooms. As the number of single rooms is very limited there is also the option to reserve a room in a close by hotel (just down the hill but a car would be necessary for most people) or a youth hostel in Nettersheim. Furthermore there is very basic accommodation on the ground of Kloster Steinfeld called Primanertrakt. This is dorm style accommodation with up to four bunk beds in a room and one bathroom for females and one for males. All accommodation include breakfast.
We recommend you already decided on two choices when you start the registration process so you chances are higher that you will find suitable accommodation while registering.
