Virtual ICASSI – July 26 – August 8
Virtual ICASSI 2021 consists of workshops available to registered participants as well as Plenaries and Social Events which are free and open to all. Full details are found here.
PART 1: WORKSHOPS
For Participants who are Registered for Workshops: Please note that your workshop instructor will send you the link to your workshop and provide you with the time you should join the Zoom room.
For Participants who already have a Zoom account:
1. Click on the link that your instructor sends you.
2. Enter the Meeting ID and Passcode if necessary.
For Participants who do not have a Zoom account:
1. Download the application Zoom Client for Meetings at https://zoom.us/download
2. Install (download) application and open it. There is no cost to do this.
3. Click Join a Meeting.
4. Sign Up if you don’t have a ZOOM account yet.
5. Sign in with your account. After signing in click Join a Meeting.
6. Enter Meeting ID, Passcode and Full Name.
7. You can also enter a Meeting via the direct link (Join Zoom Meeting link). Click on the link and choose Launch Zoom Meetings in browser.
8. If you prefer not to install Zoom application on your computer, you can join the Meeting directly from your browser. Go to https://zoom.us and click Join a Meeting in the top right. Enter Meeting ID, Passcode and Full Name and join a Meeting.
Once Participants are signed into the Meeting:
1. Choose whether you would like to use sound and camera and click join.
2. Zoom interface for the participant has the following options:
- Start/stop audio camera
- Chat
- Raise hand option in Reaction section
- Share screen
3. After joining your workshop, your instructor will explain procedures about use of your camera and microphone and asking questions.

PART 2: PLENARIES & SPECIAL ACTIVITIES (OPENING CEREMONY, SOCIAL ACTIVITY AND CLOSING CEREMONY)

We will be using Zoom for these activities. If the link does not open for you please follow the instructions above about downloading a Zoom application. The times for these activities are listed below in the schedule. The waiting room for these activities will open 20 minutes before the event. Everyone will be entered to the room individually so that will take some time. If you do not want to share your full name we encourage you to watch the presentations after live screening on our YouTube channel (see the information below) as we would like to establish a secure atmosphere for the participants. Once you are in the room you will be automatically set to mute. Please leave your microphone on mute during the presentations. If you want you can leave your camera off until the beginning or also for the whole time. Please open the chat so that you are able to communicate and interact with one another. Unless otherwise noted this will be the same for both weeks. The presentations will be accessible from our YouTube channel after the premier live screening. PART 4: ANNOUNCEMENTS
1. Participants who register for and attend all 9 hours of a workshop will receive a Certificate of Participation which will be sent electronically at the close of the summer school.
2. No Certificates of Participation will be given for attendance at Plenaries.
3. It is expected that the plenaries will be posted on the youtube channel at https://www.youtube.com/icassi shortly after they take place. By September 2021 they will also be translated to German and available on youtube. More details will be available on the website.
